This 15 point paper examines how physiology research findings are applied in the biomedical and agricultural setting. University-, hospital- and industry-based lecturers contribute to this class helping students develop an understanding of the application of physiological knowledge and principles to commercial and medical technologies.

This course is taught by seminars that comprise in-depth analyses of literature on specified applied topics in the physiology of animals.

Students who successfully complete the course should be able to:

  • Discuss selected topics in applied physiology, prepare written reports and oral presentations. We will focus on mechanisms of lactation, reward, mental processing, social interactions and immune functions
